Agency Contracts
Following referral from your agency, LCAT makes an initial assessment of the client. Whether the child needs assistance in school or outside of the school or home setting, we can provide whatever is deemed necessary.
A plan is drawn up which identifies appropriate signposting, interventions, outcomes and timescales. Plans are reviewed regularly to ensure interventions are on target. In addition to direct family support, LCAT promotes parenting support and improves skills for parents and families through parent empowerment sessions. These sessions focus on supporting parents in developing self confidence and self esteem, which in turn will impact on the development of positive parenting skills. Strengthening the morale and confidence of parents is a key underpinning feature of our philosophy and the sessions do this by offering a variety of activities to parents, including offering Animal Assisted Therapy and AAA services as individual within a group and then as a group with their children.
We do a great deal of prevention work, which is predominantly met through the family sessions that take place in the home, in the parenting classes and through activities with the children and young people in school.
School based sessions take a variety of forms. Some are 1:1 around counselling and play therapy, some are small group sessions around self awareness and awareness of others and their needs, and some are for larger groups supported by agency partners such as the police and health professionals around risk taking behaviour.
LCAT has proven experience of providing child and family centred support services, enabling family cohesion, self care, responsibility and resilience. The aim of these services is to develop targeted approaches to maintain the family home, promote community living, increase wellbeing, support transition, and promote protection of the child/young person. As a leader in specialist care and education we have developed a range of services for young people and adults with multiple/complex learning disabilities including autism spectrum conditions and providing education and support for young people with complex emotional difficulties. Our experience has enabled us to develop services designed to re-engage young people in education/training.

We develop links and appropriate partnership working so that resources are not duplicated. LCAT works with the family/young person to establish what access is required with the Local Authority and the individuals involved, and plan the use of the services accordingly. We link families into universal community resources so that they are able to sustain the support they require in the future.
LCAT focus on promoting school and wider education attendance and attainment, reducing exclusions and supporting positive transitions. Services are delivered through targeted programmes designed around the young person’s needs. Programmes aim to improve social inclusion and community involvement, improve young people’s knowledge of health issues including the misuse of drugs and alcohol and reduce anti-social/offending behaviours. Parenting support programmes build awareness of issues affecting them and their child and improve skills and confidence to manage complex behaviours and support conflict resolution.
Support needs to be time limited, specific and have identified outputs and measurable outcomes. Timing of services is key to the success of a programme and with the capacity within our services we are able to respond to the needs of children/families at key times. Outcomes for interventions will be mapped and monitored in line with agreed KPI’s and information will be forwarded to your agency through a monitoring report and service user feedback tools.
LCAT employees work confidently to the CAF and see themselves as part of the team that wraps around the family, promoting positive information and communication systems with the lead professional.
Staff will be skill matched to young people/families to ensure that targeted support is optimised. All staff are CRB cleared and trained to work within the childrens safeguarding policy.
We can design programmes to suit your individual clients needs, determined by budget and / or timeframe.
We already supply Lancashire County Council with a range of services, including working with the ACE Cluster and are set up as a supplier on the LCC e-tendering system.
